• Select an artwork in the New Media Arts field. Evaluate it within the framework of the circular art economy as you understand it from the reading. Use a critical perspective to analyze the work, considering its impact on humans, nature, economics, social justice, politics, and other relevant factors.
• “The temporary nature of a poem means that it does not aspire to eternity, but a temporary, limited event of writing and its enjoyment.” Discuss this quote in terms of the artwork you discussed previously, its temporality, and the fact that as we move away from nature, our addiction to permanent and perfection has become stronger and stronger.
• Finally, speculate and propose an alternative version that supports the goals of sustainable development agendas.

Blog Assignment:

In groups of two or individually, you will research a material and a technique from the resources slide. Try to collect the most information you can find, including the recipe and step-by-step instructions for making it. If you don’t know the recipe you can try to guess or ask us for help.

Finally, experiment with one of these techniques. Bonus points if you modify the ingredients or the technique to create your own local version. Bring at least one sample of what you did to our next class.

In your blog, post your research and document the process of making the material and the technique you used. Comment on the challenges you faced and post your reflection on the potential uses in art and design.

We decided on using the orange peel recipe and changing it to yuzu peel.
